The Dawn Spire is a place in the Winderost where the Aesir live. It is a giant nest for all of the natural Aesir gryfons. It is, possibly, the largest gryfon aerie in the world. It experiences arid summers and rainy winters. The Dawn Spire also includes ancient rock formations of towers, spires, rock bridges and a small canyon. A spring runs year-round through the area. The Dawn Spire, though it is the name of the aerie itself, is also a large crescent-shaped rock tower in the aerie where gryfons gather for important meetings. The level of the tower, called a tier, respresents the rank of the gryfon.

It is said by Mar that when Sverin was a prince, he stood there as a sentry once. This is a post that those of the highest regard are able to stand on, with another gryfon being Stigr, who during his new life, stood on the post for three years.
